William “Bill” Lester Smith, 93, of Florence, KY passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at Florence Care Center in Florence, KY. Bill was born February 10, 1929 in Aurora, Indiana to the late Lester and Helen Smith. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Bill was a selfless man with a heart of gold. He was very caring and loving. He had never met a stranger, and he would give you the shirt off his back. He was a proud member of First Church of Christ in Burlington, KY and he loved his Church family. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time outdoors. His brother, Landon Smith had preceded him in death. Bill is survived by his loving wife, Hertha Smith, his brother, Wayne (Joyce) Smith, his nieces: Cindy, Debbie and Venita, and his nephews: Westin and Eric. A visitation will be held for Bill on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at First Church of Christ, 6080 Camp Ernst Rd, Burlington, KY 41005. A service will be held immediately following at 1:00 PM at the Church. Bill will be laid to rest following the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Church of Christ at the address listed above in memory of Bill.
