Rosemary Talbert, aged 96, of Elsmere, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at Rosedale Green Care Center. Born in Covington, KY, to the late John and Lillian Rose (Stratman) Gerwe, Rosemary was a testament to a life well-lived, marked by devotion, kindness, and a vibrant spirit.

A proud alumna of Notre Dame Academy, Class of 1946, Rosemary dedicated her career to serving others in various capacities, including as St. Paul’s Parish Secretary and eventually retiring from the Internal Revenue Service. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, actively participating in St. Henry Church’s community through the Widows Club and the Altar Society, and cherishing decades of camaraderie with her card-playing group.

Rosemary’s array of talents enriched the lives of all who knew her. An accomplished oil painter, avid gardener, and skilled seamstress, she infused beauty and warmth into every endeavor. Her passions for travel, bowling, card games, and bingo brought immense joy and deepened connections with others. Renowned for her culinary skills, she created memorable experiences with her delightful cooking and baking. Above all, the moments she cherished most were crafting and playing with her grandchildren, where she excelled as a loving and fun grandmother. Her warmth, generosity, and positivity touched many lives, making her presence a source of comfort and joy. Her smile, often described as a “ray of sunshine,” will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Robert Talbert; her daughter, Linda Rose Talbert; and her four siblings. Rosemary’s legacy will live on through her children, Glenn Talbert, Douglas Talbert (Diane), Lisa Hamilton-Kuhr (Jeffrey), and Karen Eades (Paul Long); her thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Family, friends, and those touched by Rosemary’s life are invited to St. Henry Church, Erlanger, for visitation on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 9am to 10am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place at St. John Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Edgewood Senior Center, 550 Freedom Park Drive, Edgewood.
