In Loving Memory of Retired Navy Chief, Ronald Edward Wittry.

Ron, a devoted family man, esteemed friend, and retired Navy Chief, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of love, camaraderie, and selflessness that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born on December 21, 1949, Ron dedicated 23 years of his life in service to his country, rising through the ranks to become a distinguished Navy Chief. His unwavering commitment to duty, honor, and integrity earned him the respect of his peers and admiration of his subordinates. Ron was not only a patriot but a mentor and leader who left an indelible mark on the lives he touched during his distinguished military career.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Ron had a zest for life and a passion for exploration. His love for traveling took him all over the globe, where he embraced new cultures and forged new friendships. He often encouraged and orchestrated family trips, in hopes to share his love of different places and people he’d seen. Ron embodied connection and bringing people together for the simple sake of laughter and also more meaningful endeavors.

A true family man, Ron held his relationships with his children and grandchildren as the treasures of his life. He reveled in the simple joys of spending quality time with his family, creating cherished moments that will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come. His love and guidance will continue to be a guiding light for his family, even in his absence.

Rob is survived by siblings Nick Wittry ( Linda) of Humble, Tx. Debbe Wittry of Hutchinson, Ks. Pre deceased by sisters Linda Ralls and Grace Benander and his parents Nick and Betty Wittry (nie Barnhart) also pre deceased by great grandson Logan Wittry.

One of Ron’s most remarkable qualities was his generosity. He possessed a giving spirit that extended to both friends and strangers alike. Whether offering a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or providing comfort, Ron touched countless lives with his kindness. His generosity was not only expressed through material gifts but also through the intangible gifts of time and thoughtfulness.

Ron’s departure creates a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will live on in the stories shared by those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the extraordinary life Ron led—a life marked by service, adventure, love, and generosity.

Visitation will be held 11am to 1pm with funeral services to follow at 1pm  at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, Ky.
