Ned G. Kleier, 80, of Burlington, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice on January 8th. He retired from Cocoa Cola in 1991. He was a driver for Senior services of Northern Kentucky, taught first aid for the American Red Cross for 30 years, a 50 year member of the Burlington Fire Department, a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus, longtime sports trainer for Conner high School, being one of the first sports trainers in the State of Kentucky. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, a member of Disabled Veterans and the VFW in Elsmere, past president of the Senior Citizens of IHM, and a veteran of the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores of Burlington, his sons, Michael Kleier of Georgetown, KY and Mark Kleier (Diane) of Villa Hills, a brother, Ed Kleier of Burlington, 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at the Linnemann Funeral Home in Burlington on Tuesday, Jan 12th from 4-8 PM and mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, January 13th at 10AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, with burial to follow at the Burlington Cemetery.
