Mike Lawrence

Howard Michael Lawrence, age 81, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2023.

Michael was the very proud husband to his Barbie. Mike and Barb have been soul mates since they met at Bellevue grade school. They would go on to be married for 62 years.

Mike spent many of his years as a hard-working entrepreneur. Those who love him would tell you of his strong willed determination that drove his success in running a sawmill, concrete plant, and one of his greatest successes, Lawrence Construction. His legacy will forever be displayed throughout the state with many bridges and highways.

Mike’s love for horses and the family farm would carry into his retirement years. He enjoyed sitting on the back porch, watching the deer and birds while admiring his flowers. He was often accompanied by one of his 15 grandchildren or great grandchildren who greatly admired their Papa. He adored his dogs Chance and Max. They were never far from his side awaiting a treat or an afternoon nap together.

Mike was fiercely loved, and admired by many and his life here on earth will forever be cherished.

Mike was greeted in Heaven by his late parents, Howard and Naomi Lawrence. His beloved daughter, Renee Lawrence and sisters Betty Taylor and Joan Link. He is survived and greatly missed by his wife Barbara Lawrence, Brother Tommy Lawrence, Son Jeffrey Lawrence, Granddaughters Shena Lawrence, Chasta Stiene and Laurna Hubbard and Grandson’s Elliott Kirby and Matthew Lawrence. Great grandchildren, Jade Jones, Brennen and Brooklyn White, Briella Lawrence, Paisley, Paxton and Ivy Stiene, Wyatt, Reese and Rylee Hubbard.

A visitation will be held for Mike on Monday, February 13, 2023 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. A service will be held immediately following at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Boone County Animal Care and Control at 5643 Idlewild Rd, Burlington, KY 41005 in memory of Mike.
