Mary Lou Wright born February 4, 1939, was called home to her Lord and Savior on October 29, 2023.
Mary Lou spent the entirety of her life dedicated to Jesus Christ and her church, Florence Methodist Church. She was born in her family home on Banklick Street in Florence, KY and was a 1957 graduate of Boone County High School. While Mary Lou was growing up she was very close with her entire family. She had an innate nurturing characteristic that she carried throughout all roles she held in her life. Once married she made the “long journey” to Erlanger, KY., to build and raise her family. This would have been a big deal to Mary Lou as travel was not something she enjoyed; Florence and later Erlanger were her paradise, there was no better place on earth in her mind!
Once married, Mary Lou spent most of her adult life as a dedicated wife, mother, and eventually grandmother. She carried out all these roles with grace and remained dedicated to them even after she took a position at Emerson’s bakery in Erlanger. For 30 years, Emerson’s was her way of keeping in touch with her community, while still playing an active mother and grandmother role, until she retired at 80! Throughout her life she remained an active caretaker of not only her family but also of the community she loved so dearly.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her father Willie Wood, mother Jennie Woods, siblings: Billy, Kathleen, Eddie Ray, Jimmy Dale, Larry Joe Woods, and Allie Wright Kriedler. Also, her husband, Howard Lowell Wright. She is survived by her 3 children and 2 grandchildren: Curt Wright, Jennifer (Rod) Hatfield, and Matthew (Bridget) Wright; Montana Hatfield and Marino Hatfield.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm and services to immediately follow at 7pm lead by Pastor Anna Merlo to be held at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger, KY on Tuesday November 7, 2023. Burial Services will be held privately by the family.

Sympathy

Mary Lou was an amazing and caring woman. Didn’t know a stranger. I was blessed to have her hire me at Emerson’s back in ’96. It was my first job and I loved it. I worked there for 4 years with her and after I left always loved stopping in to talk with her. I wish I had the proper chance to say goodbye to her. She definitely had an impact on my life. Thoughts and prayers to all of her family and friends.

Sympathy & Prayers

Curt,
So very sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. I remember her from the bakery of course and Triple EEE Swim Club. She always had smile on her face and a kind word.
Hoping that memories will ease the pain of your loss.
You’re in our thoughts and prayers.
Greg & Kathy Blackburn

In Memory of Mary Lou

Curt, Jenny and Matt — so sorry to hear about Mary Lou’s passing. I remember her as a vivacious, kind and beautiful woman whose smile was ever-present. I wish I could be at the visitation, but will be out of town for work. Love and comfort to you all, Lisa (Brewsaugh) Koressel and family

Saddened

Mickey and I were saddened to read of Mary’s passing. She was such a kind and caring neighbor. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch with her.
