Larah Jean Kidd
Larah “Jean” Kidd, 78, of Independence, KY passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. Elizabeth in Ft. Thomas, KY.
Jean came from humble beginnings. Born in Rockcastle County, KY is where her love of family began, with her parents, 10 brothers and sisters. She would often revisit her hometown “up on the ridge” with her siblings to share many wonderful memories. This made her heart full.
Jean was a hardworking, graceful woman who always found time for her children, grandkids, and many nieces/nephews. She loved the simple things in life such as gardening, but family time was most important to her. Jean’s faith in Christ is why she saw the good in everyone she met. Jean was dearly loved and will be missed by many.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Georgia (Jones) Abney; children, Rita Kidd and Donald Kidd; and great-grandson, Carter Helmle.
Jean is survived by her loving children: Beverly Kidd, Becky Kidd Gunyon (Robert) and James “Jimmy” Kidd; grandchildren: Larah Roach, Stephanie Ballinger (Stevi), Jordan Wilson, Ashten Kidd, Dakota Kidd, Michael Gunyon and Joseph “Adam” Lahner; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 4:00 PM until the time of service, 7:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY, 41005. Committal service will be on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 1:00 PM in Richmond Cemetery, 606 E Main St., Richmond, KY 40475.
