Lily Fowee of Edgewood, passed away at the age of 67 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. Born in Lima, Peru in 1951, Lily first came to the United States as an exchange student, where she met Thomas Fowee. After returning home, the two stayed in touch and on his second visit to Peru, Thomas proposed. Lily was an avid world traveler, accomplished cook, and craftswoman. She could knit, crochet and sew, even making her own prom dress. Lily received training and an Associate’s degree in Secretarial Science. She became an Executive Secretary for Comair. After retiring, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at Lloyd High School. Lily’s hard fought battle with breast cancer was made a little easier by the time she spent talking to and visiting with her grandchildren. They brought joy into her life and were not just grandchildren, but friends as well. Lily is preceded in death by: her father, Kou Wai Chong, mother, Juana Kou husband, Thomas Fowee, and brother, Jamie Kou. She remains in the hearts of those who survive her: daughter, Kim (Manjula) Fowee-Perera; son, Anthony Fowee; sisters, Gaby Kou Chong and Zonia Kou Chong; brothers, Francisco (Pancho) Kou and Wilfredo Kou, and beloved grandchildren, Portia and Vincent. A Memorial Visitation followed by a service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Lily’s name can be made to METAvivor at www.secure.metavivor.org/page/contribute/. Please leave a message of comfort for the family under the “condolences” tab.

Lily made a positive difference

Lily made a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of the students, staff, and families at Lloyd High School. She brought joy with her every day and we were blessed to have known her. Laura Hellmann / Erlanger-Elsmere Schools

One of the sweetest women

Mrs. Fowee was one of my favorite administrators at Lloyd. I was an aid in the office the last hour everyday and I always enjoyed the long conversations I had with her each day about our lives and families. She never failed to amaze me with the amount of knowledge and experience she had because of all the places she had been. If I could I would surely thank her for all our talks we had each day and for making my days brighter just by her stories and pictures of her grandchildren. Prayers and condolences to the family I know she loved so much. -Brittany Howard 2018 Grad
