John North Caldwell

John North Caldwell, 88, of Burlington, passed away peacefully August 31, 2020 with his daughters by his side. He was born September 11, 1931 in Utica, NY to the late Marion and Catherine Caldwell.  John loved to work in his garden and would share his vegetables with all the neighbors.  He loved playing his banjo and going on boat trips on the Tennessee River.  He was a practical jokester and so enjoyed pulling his jokes on people and watching them jump out of their seat… especially his daughters!  He also loved playing Chinese checkers with the grandkids and knocking on the windows with deer antlers at Christmas so the kids knew the reindeer where here.

John is survived by his spouse, Dorothy J. Caldwell, children; Leslie (Rick) Garcia of Burlington and Leigh (Don) Duckworth of Crescent Springs, grandchildren; Catie (Alex) Menne, John Duckworth, Ben Garcia, and Mac Duckworth, great-grandchild; Amelia Menne, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Frances McGlaun Caldwell.

A memorial service will be held on John’s birthday, at 4:00 pm on September 11, 2020 at Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington. Due to COVID-19 concerns, a mask is required to be worn for the services and social distancing maintained.
