Gerald Guest

Gerald Thomas (Tom) Guest age 93, of Earlinger, Kentucky, formerly of Cynthiana Kentucky and Mar Vista California passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014 at, St Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood Kentucky. Tom was born March 12, 1920, in Sedalia Missouri, the son of Mary and Mac Guest. He married Kathryn Hill on October 25, 1941, and enjoyed 67 years of marriage before Kathryn’s death in October 2008. Tom was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, daughter Barbara Cicci, brothers Ira, John, William and Richard Guest and sisters Maudie Pipenburg, Anna Gabbard and Pearl McCaa. He is survived by daughter Susan Guest Badberg (Ron) of Nebraska City, Nebraska, son David Gerald Guest (Marylou), of New Ulm, Minnesota and son-in-law Sam Cicci of Burlington Kentucky , 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Sandy Gamel and numerous nieces and nephews.Tom and Kathryn raised their family in southern California and moved to a farm near Cynthiana, Kentucky in 1971. He loved to garden and grew lots of pumpkins and watermelons. In 2002, Tom sold the farm and moved to Burlington, Kentucky to be closer to daughter Barbara and her family. Tom was an Elder in the United Presbyterian Church. He was an avid sports fan and kept up with all the games, sometimes listening to one on the radio and another on TV. He adored all his grand children and was especially proud to be a great- great grandpa. Visitation will be held at Linnemann Family Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 1 PM – 2 PM with burial and service to follow at Burlington Cemetery in Burlington, KY.
