Florence “Gail” Houp

Obituary
Condolences

Florence “Gail” Houp, 84, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY.  Gail was born on February 19, 1939, in Ludlow, KY to the late Howard and Hazel Morrow Houp.

Gail lived in Sun Valley, California for many years.  She worked as an inspector and inspected the parts that were used on the shuttles for NASA.  She thoroughly enjoyed her job and was proud of what she did.  Gail moved back home to Northern Kentucky and worked in banking before she retired.  She was an incredible cook and loved to feed people and share her recipes with others.  Gail enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.  She was a kind soul who was self-sacrificing, always putting others first.  Gail loved her family fiercely and would do anything for them.  In her last days here, she gave her life to Christ.  Anyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving this sweet lady will miss her dearly in the days to come.

Preceding her in death are her parents Howard and Hazel Houp; son Lewis E. Keener; siblings Ruth Ridimann, Thomas “Jim” Houp, Kathryn Hisle, and Ramona Houp.

Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her sister Maureen (Clarence) Bowles; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Gail also leaves behind her loyal, four-legged fur baby, Sarge.

A private service will be held to honor Gail’s life at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Gail’s name to Redwood School and Rehabilitation Center 71 Orphanage Rd., Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017, St. Elizabeth Hospice 483 S Loop Rd., Edgewood, KY 41017, or the Kenton County Animal Shelter 1020 Mary Laidley Drive, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017.
