Donald Joseph Hollenkamp Sr.

Donald Joseph Hollenkamp Sr., 89, of Burlington, KY passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Boonespring Care Center in Union, KY. He was born November 19, 1934 in Covington, KY to the late Joseph and Hilda Hollenkamp. Don was a devout Catholic and a proud member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, KY. He was a former member of St. Paul Church and had volunteered at many of their festivals in the 70’s.

Don started his professional career at Denhams Drugstore in Florence, KY. He was a practicing pharmacist and had served the community for almost 40 years. He was also a proud Kentucky Colonel. In his free time, Don enjoyed reading the newspaper and rooting for the Cincinnati Reds.  He also loved traveling with his wife and family, and some of his favorite trips were with his wife to Las Vegas. Don and his wife loved a good happy hour and a night out dancing.

Don is survived by his loving sons: Donald Hollenkamp Jr. and Daniel Hollenkamp (Judy), his loving daughter: Pamela Lidyard, his beloved granddaughter: Devinne Verst (Christopher), and his sweet great-granddaughter: Peri Elizabeth Verst. Don joins his beloved wife Patricia “Pat” in death.

A visitation will be held for Don on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 12pm until 1pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. A Catholic Blessing will be held immediately following the visitation at 1:00pm at the Funeral Home. Don will be laid to rest next to his wife at Burlington Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
