Steven Thomas Hundemer, 67, of Bradenton, FL passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Clyde E. Lassen Veteran’s Nursing Home (St. Augustine, FL).  He was born January 10, 1957 in Biloxi, MS to Thomas and Geraldine Hundemer.  Surviving are his dear mother, Geraldine Hundemer; his siblings Jennifer Batts, Ken Hundemer (Nancy), and Mark Hundemer (Miriam); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Hundemer; brother, Jeff Hundemer; and his sister, Kathy Schulte.

Steve was a fun-loving man who valued faith, family, and friends throughout his life.  His personal passions were science, science fiction, and sports. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1981 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of Pi Tau Sigma and Triangle Engineering fraternities.  He attended the university on a US Army ROTC scholarship and, upon graduation, served four years as a Project Officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers, achieving the rank of Captain.  During his time in the Army, Steve was recognized as an exceptional officer by his superiors and earned the Army Commendation Medal and Achievement Medal during assignments in Korea and Texas.  Also, he earned the highly coveted Army Airborne Wings at Ft. Benning, GA. After the Army, Steve had a successful career as an engineer, serving in capacities as an Industrial & Quality Engineer, Production & Assembly Line Supervisor, and Sales Engineer for several companies.

A visitation will be held for Steve on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Mary Queen of Heaven Church, 1150 Donaldson Highway, Erlanger, KY. A celebration of life will follow in the cafeteria at Mary Queen of Heaven. Steve will be laid to rest with family at St. Stephen Cemetery in Fort Thomas, KY on Monday, April 29, at 10:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made in honor of Steve to The ALS Association Central and Southern Ohio Chapter at 1170 Old Henderson Road, Suite 221, Columbus, OH 43220 or to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
