Robert A. Rice, 84, son of the late Clarence and Angela Rice, entered eternal life on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his residence in Florence, KY. He will be dearly missed by his children: Teresa Lonnemann (Joe), Nancy Gadd (Matt), Jackie Felthaus (Todd), Janet Strange (Mark Kennedy), Angie Fabiani (Dennis) and Robert Rice (Jennifer); mother of their six children, Dot Rice; sister Mary Ann Menke (Dr. Richard); fourteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews as well as extended family members and friends. Robert worked at his family’s business, Serve-All Foods, where he developed a love for food and cooking. This led him to open multiple restaurants and get involved at St. Paul parish where he was known as “Chicken Charlie”. He was also an avid sports fan. Robert was preceded in death by his siblings Rita Mae Rice, Chris Fedders, John (Jack) Rice, Donald Rice and his twin brother Richard (Dick) Rice.

The family will receive guests at St. Paul Church, Florence, Kentucky, Monday, September 11, 2017 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm with a Memorial Mass to follow at 6:00pm. Per Robert’s request, his body was donated to UC College of Medicine. Remember

Bob was a HELLVA GUY. Learned quite a lot over the years while our families stayed close. Many endeavors and he always remember close friends, and loved him for his wit and charm. He will definitely never be forgotten, may the stairway to Heaven be an easy climb !


CHICKEN CHARLIE

I NEVER HEARD THAT NICKNAME BUT BOB GAVE ME A JOB AT SERVALL AND I HELPED WITH THE CHICKEN AT ST.PAUL’S. HE WAS A B BUSTER BUT WE GOT ALONG AND I ENJOYED HIS SENSE OF HUMOR. I WANTED TO BE JUST LIKE HIM. HAPPY TRAILS BOB… AND WHEN YOU GET THERE, SAVE A SPOT FOR ME AND WE’LL FRY UP A HUGE MESS OF CHICKEN FOR EVERYONE!!!
