Donald Payton Gibbs, 78, formerly of London, KY, resident of Burlington, KY, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bertha Gibbs; and his siblings, Thomas “Ed” Gibbs, Dorothy Fike, Kenneth Gibbs, Sonia Gibbs, and Sonny Gibbs. Donald is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy Gibbs (nee Monroe); his children, Donald (Cindy) Gibbs, Linda (Troy) Laile, Ron (Monica) Gibbs, and Rhonda (Daniel) Ford; and his siblings, Nancy Dunn, Norman (Della) and Douglas (Margie) Gibbs. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Elizabeth Gibbs, Donald Gibbs Jr., Clancy Laile, Allison Laile, Angela Ford, Austin Gibbs, Sarah Ford, and Alexis Gibbs; and his 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Donald retired after 35 years of work at American and Klosterman Bakeries. He loved the outdoors and sports, and he also enjoyed working many large jigsaw puzzles. Visitation will be on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10:00AM-12:30PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, KY. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:30PM at the funeral home.
