May 2, 1939 is the day to remember God’s gift of Roger Allen Coleman, 84. He was born the youngest of 8 and raised in Covington, KY to the late Oscar and Grace (Harney) Coleman. From that day forward, he was the exemplar of love and strength. Roger passed peacefully on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Madonna Manor.

He will forever be a light in the life of everyone he encountered.

Roger loved fiercely, starting with his dear parents, brothers, and sisters. He is preceded in death by brother Wallace Coleman, sister Faye Pennington, brother Ronald Coleman, sister Bernadine Coyne, and sister Barbara Mersch.

Roger is survived by his loving high school sweet heart and love of his life, Evelyn (Clore) Coleman, whom he married in 1962 and daughters Terri Burke, Gina Smith (Gary), and Jennifer Smith (Michael), grandchildren: Lauren, Zachary, Aiden, Tyler, and Peter Smith, sister Carol Pierce, brother Daniel Coleman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roger was a graduate of Holmes High School class of ‘58 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Roger provided for his family working as a truck driver for many years. Additionally, he was an avid golfer, dog walker, Sunday driver, trombone player, and lover of animals. Above all, he loved life itself and his family he delighted in spending it with.

He would often smile and look back fondly, telling stories of childhood adventures in Devou Park, the thrills of lightning bug catching, his worldly experiences in the service, and his many jokes of how his hair fell out.

Without fail, he made the days of so many through humor and raw fervor for each day. Whether he knows it or not, Roger created even more stories for others.
