Rhoda A. Russell

Rhoda Ann Waters Russell, (nee Chilcoat) 93, passed away after a challenging four-year illness at the home of her loving and caring daughter, Kris Braun RN, in Whitestown, IN on April 2, 2020. Born to James and Lillian Chilcoat (nee Behel) on May 1, 1926, in Lewistown, PA. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lee Waters, and second husband, Burl Russell. She was the youngest of four children; predeceased by brothers Owen and Stanford Chilcoat and sister Jean Jenkins. Cherished mother of Kris (David) Braun, Dixie (Ken) Barker, Janet (Dan Yaeger) Dixon-Yaeger, Dayna (John) Wade and stepson Gregory (Margaret Seifert) Russell. Loving grandmother of Jeff (Jenny) Braun, Matt (Dusty) Braun, Adam (Teana) Braun, Tracey (Tony) Hull, John (Erica) Wade, and Lillian Wade; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear and treasured friends. Rhoda was a devoted Christian and member of the Erlanger United Methodist Church. She was a talented artist and watercolorist, an accomplished figure skater, an LPN nurse, a family photographer, an active volunteer for many organizations, a voracious reader, and enjoyed crossword & jigsaw puzzles, cards, and games of all sorts, especially with her many friends and grandchildren. She was never idle; always creative in knitting, baking, candy making, and ceramics. Rhoda loved her life and enjoyed every day to the fullest. Her energy level, empathy, sense of humor, strong faith, generosity, and spirited nature will be fondly remembered. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2020, from 12pm-1pm with funeral services to follow at Linnemann Funeral Home 30 Commonwealth Ave Erlanger KY. Inurnment will be held at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her honor to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Humane Society, Salvation Army, Samaritan’s Purse, Special Olympics, and her church. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and intimacy of funerals, attending guests are strongly encouraged to wear facial masks, to observe social distancing, and be prepared to wait due to capacity restrictions.
