Ralph Edward Lewis Jr., 66, of Burlington, KY, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at his residence after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family.  Raised in New York, Ralph worked as a machinist and served as a volunteer firefighter in Port Jefferson, New York.  After living several years in Florida, Ralph settled his family in Northern Kentucky where he continued work as a machinist and then transitioned to the casino industry until an injury forced his retirement.  Never one to sit idle, Ralph continued to work part-time assisting friends and helping countless residents every day while in the apartment communities where he served as a maintenance technician.

A kind and generous man, Ralph developed many friendships and was adored by his family, co-workers, neighbors, and everyone he met. Ralph’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. His love for everyone will be shown through the way they continue to treat others.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, June E. Lewis; and his brother, James C. Lewis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Barbara Lewis (nee Cappetta); his daughters, Jamie Lynn (Dustyn) Hollis Reaver and Lori Anne (Matthew) Anneken.

Ralph also leaves behind his loving grandchildren, Brooklynn, Anthony, and Joseph, and two nieces and one nephew.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:30AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Burlington, KY. A reception will follow the mass from 1:00PM-3:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.

Thinking of you all

Barbara
What the two of you shared was truly something special. You loved each other so well. Losing the one you love is so hard. And so I’m praying for peace, for comfort, for whatever you need right now.
Jamie, Lori and your families
Your father was such a wonderful man. The lessons he taught you all, the love he gave, the way he cared for those that crossed his path. All those good things will live on in you.
I wish I could be there to honor Ralph along with you all. My thoughts and Prayers will be with you.
I love you all Judy W.

Thinking of you all

From the moment you met Ralph, he treated you as if you were his own. I had been lucky enough to be welcomed with open arms by him and his family from the get-go. The funny thing to me was that he never seemed to question why I was always around or why after working with Jamie for only one day we had suddenly become best friends (apple doesn’t fall far from the tree).

Maybe it comes from not having a close-knit family myself, but THIS family is truly unique. They all have an incredible way of making you feel so special and loved and I know that Ralph played a large role in that.

To the family, know that he lives on through you and that you have the support from everyone whose lives you’ve positively impacted, myself being one of them.

Sending you love during this difficult time,

Kalli

Sending Live
