Mark Joseph Toebbe, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 16, 2023, at his residence with his loving family by his side.  He was the son of the late Frank and Marjorie Toebbe, born in Covington, KY on March 21, 1948.

Mark was a 1966 graduate of Covington Catholic High School. After graduating, he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Thomas More College.  Several years later he earned an MBA from Xavier University.  Not long after high school, he married the love of his life, his soulmate Barbara. They got married in 1970 and started a wonderful life and family together. He was employed with CG&E for 30 years working in management before he retired. Mark was a great man who loved his family and friends fiercely. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, collecting and smoking different cigars, and woodworking in his basement workshop.  Barb and Mark also loved to travel everywhere and made many great memories no matter where they were.  Mark could be the life of the party, always having a good time with his friends and family.  He also enjoyed getting together with some of his co-workers for a game of cards in his spare time.  He adored his grandchildren and was proud to be their Pop.  Mark loved to watch them play and grow over the years and was always eager to get on the floor and play with the little ones (he specialized in the “horsey rides”). They were truly his pride and joy.  He was a kind and loving man who always put his family first, especially Barb.  She was his best friend, soulmate and his favorite person.  Anyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving Mark, will miss his presence beyond measure.

Preceding him in death are his parents; Frank and Marjorie Toebbe; brother Frank Toebbe; sister Mary Jo Niehaus and one granddaughter Hillary Skaggs.

Those left here to carry on his legacy are his wife of 52 years, Barbara; daughter Michelle (Jon) Martin; son Matthew (Kelli) Toebbe; grandchildren Justin, Kate, Luke, Ty; great grandchildren Liam, Isabella, Jaxon, Alexander and many cousins, extended family and a host of friends.

A memorial visitation will be held to honor his life on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Barbara Roman Catholic Church 4042 Turkeyfoot Rd., Erlanger, KY 41018.  A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 AM. Mark will be taken to his final resting place at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.  The Toebbe family invites you to Molly Malone’s 112 E 4th St, Covington, KY 41011 for a reception to celebrate Mark’s life starting at 12:00 PM on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are suggested in Mark’s name to the ALS Association 1300 Wilson Blvd suite 600, Arlington, VA 22209.
