Mark Bruce Maynard, age 72, of Ft. Mitchell KY passed away Friday, September 29th, 2023, after a courageous battle with diabetes.  On August 24th, 1951, he was born in Tonawanda, New York to Edwin “Bruce” and Helen (Huebner) Maynard. He graduated from Liverpool High School and the University of Miami in which he was a proud Hurricane alumnus.  After graduation, Mark embarked on a remarkable journey in the Oil industry.  His career took him to far-flung corners of the globe, from New Zealand to Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, Alaska, Louisiana, California, Colorado, and countless other stops along the way. Mark’s boundless curiosity and sense of adventure were integral to his existence, and he thrived in diverse cultures and landscapes, making friends wherever he went.

Beyond his career, Mark was known for his impeccable memory, his infectious smile, his sense of adventure, his warm heart, his endless charisma, his mindful spirit, and easy-going ways. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and wanderlust that will forever be cherished by his friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen Scanlon-Maynard; daughters, Brooke Linz (Nick), Heather Wunder (Nick); stepsons, Jason Grabow (Stacey), Brian Grabow (Carley), and Craig Grabow (Stacey); grandchildren, Ayden, Kenny, Oliver, Maddey, Marlow, Sloane, Axel, Duncan, and Zara; brother, Rick Maynard (Stephanie), mother-in-law Louise Scanlon, and countless other family and friends whose lives he touched.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Bruce, his mother, Helen, his stepfather, Robert Council, his father-in-law Robert Scanlon, and brothers-in-law Keith Scanlon and Terrance Scanlon. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at a later date, where friends and family can come to honor Mark’s life. Memorial contributions can be made to the Tunnel to Tower Foundation at t2t.org. May he rest in eternal peace and may his enduring spirit of adventure continue to inspire us all.
