Melissa “Lisa” Michelle Woodall, 57, of Florence, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. She was born May 3, 1966 in Warren, MI to Charles and Louise Tharpe.

Lisa worked for 15 plus years as a Deputy Clerk for the Boone County Justice Center. She loved her job and the people she worked with. Lisa was the type of person who had never met a stranger. She was a people person, and she also had no problem being the center of attention. She was really fun and outgoing.

Lisa enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She was a proud and loving wife, mother and mamaw. Her grandbabies were the light of her life, and she loved them dearly. Lisa also loved the holidays, and Christmas was her favorite. Anytime she could get the whole family together was a joyous occasion for her.

She was preceded in death by her dear aunt, Edna Brooks, and several other aunts and uncles. Lisa is survived by her loving husband: Sean Woodall, her loving parents: Charles and Louise Tharpe, her beloved children: Jake Pelley (Lauren), Adam Pelley (Jessica), Michael Pelley (Anna) and her stepsons: Kyle and Brandon Woodall, her cherished grandchildren: Emmy, Foster, Colston, Eloise, Jack, John and Courtland, and her dear brother: Robert Tharpe (Deanna).

A visitation will be held for Lisa on Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 4pm until 7pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 10:30am at the Funeral Home. Lisa will be laid to rest at Burlington Cemetery immediately following the service at the Funeral Home.

Friends Since Childhood

Lisa, (Melissa to me) and I met in junior high school. We became close friends, because who wouldn’t want to be friends with her! She was truly one of the most hilarious people ever. You really never did know what would come out of her mouth, she was one of a kind. And that smile could brighten your day.
I am so happy I was able to spend some time with her last year and meeting Sean. Instantly, you could see and feel the love between them. Sean, she was so happy with you. You were her life as well as she yours. I am sure it is hard right now to be thankful, but you two had the love that some only dream of. That is one of the best gifts you can get in this life.
My Mom and I were talking last night. She said she remembered when we were getting ready for graduation and Melissa was over at our house helping decorate my car. My Dad came home and said “Motor Mouth” was over, haha. That’s what he called her, between her and I he didn’t know who could talk the most. My parents both LOVED Melissa. Charles and Louise, you raised a great child, friend and adult!
Sean, Charles, Louise, Robert, my heartfelt sorrow, love and prayers go out to you all.

Forever Indebted

Lisa and I met when we were seventeen. When it came time to go to prom, she insisted on taking her father’s LTD. At that age I did not possess a fancy car or a fully developed brain. Trying to reassure her dad, I said “Don’t worry Mr. Tharpe I’ll drive the car like it was my own.” “That’s what I’m afraid of!’ he replied. “I want you to drive it like it’s mine!” I did lose a hub cap. I guess I owe Charles $75 and forty years of interest! However, the greatest debt I owe to the Tharpe’s is for their love and their spiritual concern for me. It is a debt to their family that I cannot repay. I am serving the Lord today because Charles didn’t give up on me. I am heartbroken for all of Lisa’s family. It is a tremendous loss. We wait for the day when Jesus will make all things new! Much love & respect, Rev. Dr. Steven Thrasher

My Forever Friend

My forever friend,

When you walked into the room, your smile lit it up. You have never met a stranger. No one knew what would come out of your mouth next but could certainly guarantee whatever it was, it would make another laugh or smile. I’m just simply going to miss you so much. I will continue to keep tabs on how your boys are doing and watch your grand babies grow. They are a part of you and I want to hold on to that until I see you again. I love you my friend. Rest In Peace. Try not to cause too much trouble up there. My deepest sympathy goes out to Sean, the kids, your parents, Robert and the rest of your family and friends that cherished you. We’ve talked so many times about what Heaven would be like. Now you know. ❤️

Sean and Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you Sean during this sad time.
