Obituary
Condolences

Laura K. Goodridge, 66, of Burlington, KY passed away Monday, March 23, 2020 at Woodcrest Nursing and Rehab Center in Elsmere, KY. Laura was born on July 11, 1953 in Belleview, KY to Alpha Lee Sr. and Emma Mae Rogers. Laura was one of five children, and she loved growing up in Belleview. Laura studied business, and obtained her Masters and her Law Degree from Northern Kentucky University, and Chase Law School. After college Laura started her career as an Attorney, and worked the later part of her life as an Estate Attorney. She loved her work, but her true passion was volunteering and helping those in need. She was a Child Advocate for the State of Kentucky, and making sure others were cared for was always important to her. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and her family was her world. Laura loved having the family together for meals and holidays, but her grandchildren were the light of her life. Laura lost a tough battle with cancer, and she will be dearly missed. Her parents and her brother, David Rogers preceded her in death. Laura is survived by her loving husband: Mark Goodridge, her beloved children: Kelly (Jeff) Ball, and Mark Shannon Goodridge, her cherished grandchildren: Mackenzie Brooke Goodridge, Bailey Raegen Goodridge, Cooper Lee Goodridge, and Jonathan David Ball, her dear siblings: Alpha (Bonnie) Rogers Jr., Eddie (Gloria) Rogers, and Rick (Diana) Rogers, and several loving niece, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services for Laura will be handled in private at the convenience of her family. Memorial donations can be made in Laura’s honor to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Prayers to you and your family at this terrible time

Words cannot express the sorrow for you and the family. Although it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you all, I remember her as a sweet kind person. There are no words at this time that help. Just know that you are in my heart and prayers.

Kind, loving soul

As a teenager, when I first met Laura, I felt instantly a part of her family, just as I had with her daughter & my best friend Kelly. Her whole family made me feel like a part of hers, especially her husband, son & mother. Later in life Laura & I shared the same sister in law, which made Laura’s brother, my brother in law. I married a man who was her brothers wife. Funny how life intertwines is somehow. Laura was genuine and kind. She was funny and caring, loyal and so smart. She passed those wonderful qualities to her children and grandchildren. My memories of her are fond and I absolutely loved her spunky spirit. Those are what I hold dear. With great admiration, & love forever. Your friend, Missy
