Judith Ann Maloney, age 91, passed into eternal life on July 17, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Judy was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on February 27, 1930 to Julius and Julia Burtschi. Judy was raised in the Catholic faith and remained a devout Catholic her entire life. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Louis University with a degree in medical technology.  On June 4, 1954 Judy married John R. Maloney, MD and they eventually relocated to Los Altos, California where they raised their children. Judy was a woman of many interests:  she was an accomplished classical pianist, a skilled seamstress, an exceptional gardener, an excellent hostess, and a talented interior decorator. She loved to hear people’s stories and always put others at ease with her genuine interest in their lives – she made friends wherever she went. Judy had a special passion for all dogs, but especially yellow Labradors. She spent many hours bird watching and educating herself about the traits of various bird species.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, mother, father, and brothers (Thomas Burtschi, DDS and Richard Burtschi, SJ).  She was the beloved mother of Thomas (Ann) Maloney and Bridget (Will) Maloney-Krips, the much loved grandmother of Patrick (Barbara) Maloney, Matthew Maloney, Maggie Maloney, Brennan (Karisa) Maloney, Katie Maloney-Krips, and 6 great grandchildren. Judy is also survived by her sister-in-law, Helen Burtschi, and many nieces and nephews. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Atria Summit Hills, Emerald Trace, and St. Elizabeth Hospice for the loving care and friendship given to Judy in recent years.

A visitation will be held at Blessed Sacrament from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 20, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood, KY or Cincinnati Lab Rescue.
