Ila Jean Pomeroy, 84, of Burlington, KY, formerly of, Lowell, MI passed away peacefully on May 4, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY. She was born January 13, 1938 in Tomah, WI to the late Robert Sr. and Priscilla Miller.

Ila Jean was a woman of noble character; she was selfless, loving, and outgoing. She cared for others and spent a lot of her time helping homeless women in her community get back on their feet. Ila Jean put her faith in God and was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Grand Rapids and First Baptist Church of Lowell.

Ila Jean always put family first and gave them her very best. She enjoyed all the holidays and absolutely went above and beyond to make them memorable; always being the “life of the party” at the gatherings she hosted. She loved to cook and, like her mother, organized and cooked for various special events. She was also an expert seamstress and could sew just about anything she put her mind to.

Ila Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Darlyne Dworschak and her brother, Sherman Miller. She is survived by her loving husband, Earl Pomeroy, her beloved children: Bob (Mary Jo) Pomeroy, BonNette Pomeroy, and Jamie (John) Koesema, her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Koesema, Parker Pomeroy, and Claire Pomeroy, and her dear siblings: Robert (Brenda) Miller Jr., Valorie Elmergreen and her children Tiffany Elmergreen and Tyler Elmergreen (Amanda) who were like grandchildren to Ila Jean.
