Evelyn Jane Holtzclaw

Evelyn Jane Holtzclaw passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the glorious age of 89 on Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY.

Evelyn was born on February 7, 1934, in Covington, KY to the late Harvey and Jenny Hardin.

Evelyn married the love her of life, Donald Holtzclaw many years ago and they started a life together, raising three wonderful children.  Evelyn worked for the IRS as a clerk before she retired. She also worked at the local Ameristop as a clerk for many years.  She was always a kind woman with strong faith.  Worshiping at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses was so important to her and was a big part of her life.  She enjoyed traveling to Natural Bridge, Red River Gorge, the mountains, and the ocean.  Evelyn had so much compassion and love for animals as well. Her greatest accomplishment in life was by far her family.  She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all her heart.  Spending time with them was defiantly her passion in life.  She was a tiny lady with enormous strength and determination.  She would light up a room and always kept people laughing.  Her presence will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Jenny Hardin; husband, Donald Holtzclaw; two sisters and one brother.

Those left here to carry on her loving legacy are her children, Diana Nemes, Daryl Holtzclaw, Donna Reinhart; grandchildren, Adam Nemes, Ben Reinhart, Jeremy Holtzclaw, Bradley Reinhart, Tonya Jackson; great grandchildren, River Wetzel, Aiden Reinhart, Adelynn Reinhart, Avery Reinhart, Angelica Jackson, Liam Jackson, Andrew Nemes, Ashlee Nemes; nine nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

In keeping with Evelyn’s final wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.  Services will be held at the convenience of her family.
