Eugene L. Cahill

Eugene L. “Gene” Cahill, 91, of Glasgow, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Rosedale Green.

Gene was a proud United States Air Force Veteran, where he served for 4 years as a Technical SQT E-6.  Music was his life, as he was a band leader at many places throughout the Northern Kentucky and Louisville areas.  He especially loved to play the saxophone, clarinet and keyboard and would entertain at local nursing homes.  Gene was also a member of the American Legion in Elsmere, KY.

He was preceded in death by son, Allen Cahill; granddaughter, Mary Morris; fiancé, Bessie Martin; and siblings: Bernard Cahill, Johnny Cahill, Danny Cahill, Gerry Cahill, Jim Cahill, Joe Cahill, Rosemary Mathis and Susan Herzog.

Gene is survived by his children: David (Debbie) Cahill, Diane (Mark) Arstingstall, Tom (Rita) Cahill, Mike Cahill, Rhonda (Dave) Schneider and Connie Wiedeman; siblings, Lou (Carol) Cahill and Sarah “Sis” Brewer; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, 10:00 AM at St. Henry Catholic Church, 3813 Dixie Hwy, Elsmere, KY 41018.  Burial will immediately follow mass at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, KY 41097.
