Enid Mair Mason, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, November 17, 2023.  She was born in Arnside House, Fforestfach, South Wales, on December 24, 1927, to the late Hywel Glyn Jones (Howell Glynne) and Lena May Williams Jones.

Mair grew up with her family in South Wales and London, and she was a member of The Fulham Schools Swimming Association, and a graduate of Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce London and The National Gregg Association.

In late 1943, Mair moved to London and worked for the Drury Lane Theater and Silver City Airways. One evening in 1944, she met Frederick Marion Mason (an Army glider pilot) at Hammersmith Palais De Danse, who was stationed there during WWII.  In 1947, she sailed over on the Queen Elizabeth, and the couple were married in Bentonville Arkansas. They started their life together and lived in Oklahoma and California before finally settling in Kentucky.

Mair loved cooking and baking, and enjoyed gardening and canning.  She relished raising her children and always said that was the happiest time in her life. Mair was very involved in community theater and Center Stage Players.  Mair was an executive secretary at The Gap from 1975-1990.  The family was one of the founding members of Grace Episcopal Church, where Mair volunteered in the Altar Guild, the Women’s Group, the Vestry and Choir.  They made lifetime friends through their “Couples Club.”  Mair had a strong sense of faith and was very devout in her belief.  She will be remembered for her dry sense of humor, her loyalty, and her dedication and love she so freely gave to her family and friends.  In her retirement years, she loved spending time with her friends and traveled extensively. Those who had the privilege and honor of knowing Mair will truly miss her.

Preceding Mair in death are her parents, Hywel Glyn and Lena May Jones, her sister, Barbara, and her loving husband, Marion.

To carry on her legacy are her children, Stephen (Jennifer) Mason, Michael (Lillian) Mason, Elizabeth (Keith) Hill, Jonathan (Lisa) Mason; grandchildren, Patrick, Matthew, Andrew, William, Dylan, Spencer and Sara Mason; great-grandchildren, Harper, Ellis, Henry, Owen, Benjamin, Jude, Skyler; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 7111 Price Pike, Florence, KY 41042.  She will be laid to rest with her husband and precious dog, Pepper, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY.  The Mason Family invites friends and family to Receptions Event Center 1379 Donaldson Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018 at 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the celebration of Mair’s life.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mair’s name to Grace Episcopal Church, the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675, or to The Neediest Kids of All, 312 Elm St. #20, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
