Donna Lee Cook

Donna Lee Cook, 75, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at St Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, KY. She worked for the I.R.S. for several years as well as the Dixie Chili Parlor and Children’s Inc where she made lifelong friends. Though most of all, Donna was wonderful with children as she was the only daughter among many brothers and helped her mother raise dozens of foster children. Donna never met a stranger and she loved telling everyone how proud she was of her family. Donna loved her family endlessly and delighted in being involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She could be found volunteering for classroom mom, chaperoning field trips, or just spending quality time with them. In her own way, she was a wonderful teacher to her family. She was the first one to teach them the alphabet, read them stories, took them on walks to smell the flowers, and told them the most captivating stories of her life or ones she simply made up to hear them laugh. Donna was a faithful and God-fearing woman. She shared her love for the Lord, never hesitating to worship Him with her family and friends. While in good health Donna faithfully attended church, oftentimes participating in the choir and organizing children’s ministries. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Leila Bowen (nee Lawson) and her brother Darrell Bowen. She is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 57 years, James Cook; daughters, Delene Branstutter (Frank) and Denise Williams (Tom), son Darin Cook (Karen), and brothers Denny and Doug Bowen. Also, surviving are her beloved grandchildren Lauren Diehl (Andrew), Lindsey Fields (Taylor), Alexis Williams, Alivia Williams, Aleaha Cook, Ava Cook, Jaxon Cook, Brooklyn Cook, and great-grandchildren Lucas and Isaac Fields. As much as Donna loved her family, her family loved her even more and she will be greatly missed. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 10am to 11am with services to follow at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Erlanger, KY.
