Donald Frey

Donald J. Frey, 84, of Erlanger, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012, at his home under the care of the Hospice of the Bluegrass. Mr. Frey was both a WWII and Korean War veteran, and a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. He was a longtime Knothole coach and manager in Finneytown, OH, and Bridgetown, OH. He graduated from Western Michigan University, was a certified Purchasing Manager at KECO Industries, and served on the board of the Purchasing Managers Association. He worked in his retirement at the Boone Links Golf Course and was an avid bridge player and golfer. He is survived by his wife Arlene Frey of Erlanger, by his children: Jerry Frey of Columbus, OH, Roseann Frey of Glendale, CA, Susan Gibson (Greg) of Cloverdale, OH, John Frey (Suzette) of Key West, FL, Elizabeth Reed (Dan) of Pittsburgh, PA, Ed Frey of Ft. Thomas, KY, a brother James Frey (Joan) of Jacksonville, FL, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial visitation will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Crestview Hills, KY on Thursday, March 22nd from 5:00-7:00 PM. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM at the church. Inurnment will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati at the convenience of the family.
