Richard Anthony (Dick) Wilson 77 of Hebron, Kentucky, went to be with his Lord, Tuesday, January 23, 2024 with his wife Peggy by his side at Villaspring Care Facility in Erlanger, Kentucky.  Dick was born July 31, 1946 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Roy and Martha Wilson of Erlanger Kentucky

Dick grew up in Erlanger.  He attended St. Henry Grade and High School.  He was a member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams. He graduated in 1964 and continued his education to Thomas More College on a basketball athletic scholarship where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics.

He married his high school sweetheart Peggy (Winzig) in 1967 and they started their life together.  After graduating from Thomas More in 1968, he taught math at Covington Catholic for one year.  From there he went on to build a career in Information Technology.

Dick and Peggy had three wonderful children, Krista, Michael, and David who they raised in Edgewood, Kentucky.  Those three children have blessed them with ten grandchildren: David, Andrew, Katie, Patrick, Nicholas, Adam, Elaina, Karlena, Jack, and Jenna.   Dick was the best Pop Pop and he loved each of them in a special way.

Dick loved sports and was a participant most of his life.  He loved to play golf and fish.  He played softball when younger and basketball into his 60’s.

He coached youth football, baseball, and basketball.  He coached two teams to the Knothole Cincinnati Area Championship in Class C and Class A leagues.

Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a loyal and caring friend to many.  He was a doer and a giver.  If anyone needed anything, he was the one to call on.  From working the Knights of Columbus fish fry, to setting up the Thursday Morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast, to working the Knights Euchre tournament Dick could always be counted on.  He was a willing volunteer and generous with his time.

After retirement Dick had two part time jobs he loved.  He cut grass at Traditions Golf Course, and he delivered catering for McAllister’s Deli.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his loving wife Peggy Winzig Wilson, his daughter Krista (David) Keller, son Michael (Jean Marie De la Mata), son David (Heather), ten grandchildren, his brother Bill, sisters Carol Haven and Darlene Moon, numerous nieces and nephews and many dear and cherished friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Mary Queen of Heaven Roman Catholic Church 1150 Donaldson Hwy, Erlanger, KY 41018.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church at 11:00 a.m.  A reception will follow at Receptions Event Center 1379 Donaldson Hwy from 12:00 p.m.to 2:00 p.m. Dick will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Erlanger, KY on Monday, January 29. 2024.
