Cheryl Gay Barth (nee Poore), 52, of Fort Thomas, KY passed peacefully on March 24th. She was the beloved wife of Joseph P Barth Jr (Joe) for nearly 31 years. Cheryl most recently was a sales and marketing representative for Acosta Inc. She also worked for Procter & Gamble, American Greetings and Delta Airlines. Her passion was being mother to Joe III (Kenzie) and Ashley McCubbins (OP). She was looking forward to being a new grandma to Elizabeth, her first grandchild born 2 minutes before she passed away. Cheryl was born in Russellville, KY, and went to the University of Kentucky where she met her husband Joe. She lived with her husband and children in Taylor Mill, KY; Overland Park, KS; Nashville, TN; and St. Augustine, FL before moving to Fort Thomas. Cheryl was a lifetime member of the University of Kentucky Alumni Association and enjoyed attending basketball and football games. She loved the beach and boating. She was a tireless volunteer at her childrens’ schools and worked on the annual endowment campaign for Father Ryan HS in Nashville. She was an active “team mom”, involved in all her childrens’ teams and clubs. As an instructor at Top Flight Gymnastics, she worked with many of the children in the NKY area. Cheryl is survived by her husband Joe, son Joe III (Kenzie), daughter Ashley McCubbins (OP), granddaughter Elizabeth Barth, parents Russell and Patsy Poore, sister Venita Hall (Ricky), and sisters-in-law Carol Polly (Dan), Jody (John) Rapp, Debbie (Dave) Cahill, Mary (Tony) Noll and Diane (Mike) Ryan. The “fun aunt”, Cheryl was dearly loved by her 20 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29th, from 3-6pm, at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, March 30th at 11am at St Barbara Church in Erlanger. Burial will take place in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY.
