Betty J. Haskamp, 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at her residence in Ft. Wright, KY.  She was born on August 18, 1944, in Falmouth, KY to the late Lloyd and Margie Ball.

Betty grew up in Northern Kentucky and graduated from Simon Kenton High School in 1962.  After high school, she began working in Cincinnati, living with her friends, and enjoying life to the fullest before she met Gene. Gene became her best friend and the love of her life.  They decided together to start a family and were married on October 11, 1969. Early in her career, Betty worked for the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home where she loved and invested in many children in need. She continued her career working for the IRS for many years before she retired.  She was an active parishioner at St Agnes Parish shortly after getting married. Her family was her life, she was always active in her children’s and grandchildren’s sports and extracurriculars, never missing a game.  Betty loved dogs, especially her dog Buffy of 19 years, and her grand dog, Teddy.  She was a feisty, sweet soul with a heart of gold. Betty was selfless, always putting others first.  Betty loved going to the lake on Papa’s boat and was one of the Cincinnati Reds’ biggest fans.  She was known for her amazing homemade jam, but most of all for the endless love she had for her family. For all who had the privilege of knowing and loving this wonderful lady, they will miss her presence greatly in the days to come.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene Haskamp; siblings, Ruby Ball, Irene Longworth, Ginny Elmore, Barbara McCracken, Major Ball, Dorothy Bond, Kathryn Humphries; brother in laws, Joseph Haskamp, Dick Haskamp and Thomas Haskamp; sister in law, Noel Hopenjans.

A Bright Light for all who worked with her

Betty worked with us for many years at the IRS processing center in Covington. She was a mainspring for getting things done, always a pleasant disposition and a delight to work with. So many had affection for this true lady.
