Shelley Ann Cook Gottis died May 21, 2018, following a sudden illness. She was just short of her 64th birthday. She was the fourth child of Maynard and Priscilla Cook, who preceded her in death. A Lloyd High School graduate, she lived her entire life in northern Kentucky, yet traveled the world extensively to nearly every continent. Prague was her favorite city, and Mexico held her favorite beaches. She loved a good cruise and spa visits. Her husband, Robert Gottis, flew internationally and served as her pilot on some of their adventures together. She modeled, worked as a dental assistant, and was a sales representative for many years. She loved a “bitchin” pair of shoes, a glass of good champagne, and her siblings, nieces, and nephews whose travels she often shared or facilitated. An elegant dresser, she was also an accomplished confectioner, baker, and gourmet cook. Her warped sense of humor, contagious laugh, and mischievous smile will be so very missed. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2108 from 1pm to 4pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger. Her ashes will be shared with some of her favorite locations. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, Robert Gottis, and three step children: Matt Gottis of Dallas, Texas, Lexie (Carson) Ayers of Ocean City, California, and Evan Gottis stationed with the US Marines in North Carolina. She is also survived by a brother, Todd Cook (Lissa) of Edgewood, Melissa (Bill) Loftin of Woodland Park, Colorado, and Candis (John) Shafer of Port Orange, Florida, and a host of nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Wounded Warrior Fund or the charity of donor’s choice.
