Jeffry Alan Kelly, age 62, lost his battle with cancer on April 11, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Healthcare Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky. Cheri Corken, his faithful sister, was by his side. A memorial visitation will be held April 27, 2018 9-10am at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home,in Wapakoneta , Ohio. A memorial mass will follow at 10:30am at St. Joseph Church in Wapakoneta. Burial of cremains will be in the Church cemetery.

 

Jeff was born on April 10,1956 in Lima, Ohio. He is a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and later went on to work 30+ years as a field engineer in the telecommunications industry. He traveled often to where he was needed for his career and last resided in Shelbyville, Indiana. Jeff was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing golf. Anyone who knew him knew that he was always rooting for the Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was always restoring a classic Chevy or tinkering with something and trying to fix it. He also had a love for music and enjoyed playing the piano.

 

He is survived by his sons, Jeffry Kelly, II and Anthony (AJ) Kelly who reside in Ft Myers, Florida; daughter, Michelle Walts and husband, Jason in Woodstock, Georgia; brother, Michael (Janice) Kelly in Lima, Ohio; sister Cheri Corken and husband, Curt, of Erlanger, Kentucky; grandsons Nathan and Benjamin Walts; granddaughter, Madeleine Walts; his faithfully loyal black lab, Maggie and several nieces and nephews.

 

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Alice (Dieringer) Fromm; grandparents, Ray and Freda Dieringer; and his brother, Ricky Kelly.

 

He will be missed and remembered by the many lives he has touched, especially those that cared for him during his illness and all of the kind souls at St. Elizabeth Hospice, who expressed that it was an honor to care for him.
