A heart too big, and a mind to brilliant for this world.

Blood Family,
Over the last decade I had the chance to get to know Jared, and call him a very close and very dear friend. I have visited him and writen during his many trips to different facilities (both voluntary and involuntary) to see him. I have so many “JRod” stories, too many to write here that’s for sure. My fondest memories are our talks on several occassions mostly driving to help someone, headed to or from a meeting, or going to an event (most of time early to help run it or staying late to clean upon these drive we talked alot about life. They way we felt and thought about God, how much he wanted to have children, and our families (those we were born into, and the ones we acquired through recovery). He always spoke so fondly of his sister and would laugh that we shared a name and how much her love for him carried him through all his times away. His parents whose unconditional love was so great that he only hoped one day he could match that kind of love. He is and always will be someone I will try and mirror my life on. Not because he was rich, famous, or acquired a lot of things. But because he was rich with love and respect for all he met. He was famous to those whose life he not only touched but life changingly altered with his wisdom and non judgemwnt spirit. And he was the most grateful person for the things he did have, and would share whatever he did have with anyone who needed it. That legacy is what my friend left behind and what a beautiful legacy it is. JRod you will always live on in all of those you helped. I only hope to love a life a free from the judgement of those around me as you did.
