Mitchell. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandsons, Greg II (Jacquie), Austin, Brian II, Bradley, Andrew, Matthew, Cameron, and Carson.  He is also survived by a brother, Bobby (Carolyn) of Denton, Texas.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred H. Way and Bessie (Blenis) Way, a brother, Roy Dormire and a sister, Betty Dawn (Way) Gregory, all of Texas.

Mr. Way was a native of Amarillo, Texas and went on to graduate from North Texas State University, where he was an All-Conference football player.  He served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.  Mr. Way was employed for 35 years by Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, where he was the North American Grain Manager in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.  After retirement, he started his own business, MacWay, serving as a commodities broker for Jim Beam.

He was also a member of the Lions Club and on the board of the Dearborn County Library. Mr. Way enjoyed yardwork, golf, playing cards with friends, and spending time with his family, but his favorite pastime was fishing and playing sports with his grandsons in the backyard.

Joann & Family,

Please accept our sincerest condolences for your loss. We are grieving with you. However, we know that even heaven’s spirits have been lifted by Fred’s arrival!

Fred was a dear friend and Seagram colleague for over 50 years. His people skills were extraordinary! He was always among the first to greet someone with a smile, a certain twinkle in his eyes, and, of course, his Texas size sense of humor. He was always the consummate gentleman. We will miss him dearly.

Sincerely,
Pete & Mary Ellen

Terry & Ellie Barker & Family

The whole Barker family loved Fred and so enjoyed the talks and shared times with Fred and Joanne. Our boys spent so much time together we have enjoyed the company of all the Ways for the past 22 years. Fred exemplified the gentleman and loved his grandsons who blossomed into young men under his watch. We will miss his engaging conversations and positive outlook. We know the Lord has a special place for him as we have a special place in our hearts…
