Edmund “Ed” Tanner of Edgewood died unexpectedly on November 23rd. Ed grew up in Northern Kentucky and graduated high school at St. Henry. He served with Knights of Columbus for several decades and was a member of Mary Queen of Heaven. Ed enjoyed sports, playing basketball in high school. He was especially fond of baseball, and even tried out for the major leagues. He enjoyed watching the Reds and the occasional trip to the ballpark with his family. He also enjoyed driving sporty cars, an activity he continued throughout his life. Ed is preceded in death by parents, Robert and Marion Tanner; wife, Kathy Tanner and brother, Dale Tanner. He is survived by sons, Tom (Lynetta) Tanner and Mark (Kim) Tanner; daughter, Amy (Bob) Carr; step-children, Renee (Jake) Mahan and Doug Mersmann; brother, Jim Tanner; grandchildren, Mandy, Anthony, Brad, David, Bethany, Josh and Sam and great-grandchildren, Max and Zach. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 27th at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger from 6PM to 8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Mary Queen of Heaven on Tuesday, November 28th at 10:00AM with burial to follow at Mother of God Cemetery.
