Audrey Shepherd of Lakeside Park, died peacefully on June 21st, surrounded by those who loved her. Born in 1925 to Clarence and Helen Weinig, Audrey grew up in the Northern Kentucky area. Although she was an only child, she wouldn’t be alone for long. Audrey caught the eye of Harry Shepherd at a dance that neither was originally going to attend. Her red pleated skirt got Harry’s attention. 72 years of marriage, two children, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren later and the life Audrey lived is remembered as full. It was full of love, full of joy and full of conversation. She is described as a talker, someone who knew no enemies. Her joy was contagious. She loved to laugh, and was an excellent dancer. Her love for chocolate was no secret and she shared her sweet tooth with her grandchildren by always having a banana split ready when they came to visit. Audrey was preceded in death by both parents. She will live on in the hearts of those who survive; husband, Harry Shepherd; children, Debbie (Timothy) Richie and David (Helen) Shepherd; grandchildren  Ashley (Eric) Pichlik, Sarah Shepherd, Erin (Andrew) Isaacson, and Derek and Kyle Richie; great grandchildren Tessa, Brett and Clayton Isaacson. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11:00AM at Highland Cemetery Chapel in Ft. Mitchell. The family would prefer donations in Audrey’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by going to www.stjude.org , clicking “donate now” and checking the “dedicate my donation” box. Condolences for the Shepherds

Audrey Shepherd made this world so much happier by her perpetual smile, good humor, love, grace and kindness. As a family friend, I remember many wonderful times with Debbie, Harry and Audrey…especially in the 1970s when I would visit them after Deb and I had played a set or two of tennis at the now gone forever charming little clubhouse. We’d get a bite to eat while watching Harry’s favorite The Andy Griffith show. So many laughs. What a fabulous family. And then the time I vacationed with them in Wisconsin at their summer home. Sitting in their car waiting for a bear to appear in the woods is a favorite memory of mine. What precious memories of a happy, positive people and Audrey always there to set the tone of mirth and happiness. I don’t ever recall a cross word coming out of her mouth. She was an inspiration! I shall miss her. But I am so glad she left a daughter, Debbie, and son, David, and very special grandchildren to keep the good feelings and positive vibes going. My heart-felt sympathy for their loss and much love. ~ Ellen Everman Deaton

She was such a pleasure to know and I will truly miss her. She was the kindest, sweetest, best dressed, classy lady I’ve ever known. I just loved her. Harry and Audrey were just the cutest couple. They always took good care of each other. Every time I saw them they were always so happy and laughing and enjoying life. I’m so glad I met her and I’ll always remember her wonderful spirit!
My love to the family,

And Harry, you know I’m always here for you… just a phone call away my friend…..
