Harry David Rankin, 58, of Ft. Mitchell, died Sunday, August 26, 2012. He was an attorney with Sutton Rankin Law in Edgewood. He was a former Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney; an intern and staff member for Kentucky Senator Wendell Ford; a member of the Kentucky, Northern Kentucky (President, 1988), and American Bar Associations. Harry was listed in Best Lawyers in America, specializing in Criminal Law, Personal Injury, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Preceded in death by parents, Otwell C. and Katherine (Prather) Rankin, and brother, Dr. Thomas P. Rankin. Survivors include his wife, Jimmie Hurt Rankin; children, Emma (Ross) Lovely of Duluth, Minnesota, Otwell S. (Nicole Jenkins) Rankin of Ludlow, Halley M. Rankin of Louisville, and Guston S. Rankin of Ft. Mitchell; brother, Richard A. Rankin (Carolyn Mifflin) of Lakeside Park; and two grandchildren, Simon Walter and Mary Elise Lovely; sister-in-law, Cheryl Rankin-VanStockum; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Byrne, Katherine Syroney, Sara Knapke, Tyler (Christen) Rankin, and Alexander Rankin, and many other nieces and nephews. Memorial service 11 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, Lakeside Park, Ky. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Church fellowship hall.
